The Risks Are Real

The current trajectory of frontier model development poses many catastrophic and existential risks, from the total centralisation of economic and political power to human extinction through misaligned superintelligence. As many within the labs have said, a failure to course-correct could have devastating consequences for humanity.

Unsurprisingly, as this report suggests, many in the community are struggling with their mental health. Many also report difficulty finding a therapist with real awareness of AI risk, and have felt their therapy fell short because their therapist couldn't grasp the depth of the issue, or the existential anxiety it provokes.

We need more practitioners equipped to work within this community: not only out of our professional duty to alleviate suffering, but to give the community the support it needs to mitigate these risks.

A Space That's Yours

Confidential and independent

Talking about burnout or existential dread can feel professionally risky, especially with a grant renewal or a role at a lab on the line. My practice is entirely independent of any organisation's HR team or funding body, and what you share stays between us, within the usual limits of therapeutic confidentiality.

How I practise

I'm an integrative therapist, continuing my training in psychotherapy. I work under regular clinical supervision and am professionally insured, and before we begin you'll receive a clear written agreement covering confidentiality, fees and how your data is protected.
